Backstory:
Born to a poor family of peasants in a village deep within a forest, Shiori knew little of the outside world. She lived a simple life of venturing into the forest to hunt for mushrooms and the occasional strawberries.

It was on one such foraging trip that she happened across a strange catfish creature who led her to the site of a carriage that had taken one too many wrong turns and veered into the forest, its occupants heavily injured. By leading the villagers to their rescue, the elderly merchant couple were saved.

Grateful, the couple offered her the chance to venture to other realms under the purview of their trading company -- a chance she took to end up in Eorzea. Armed with a mountain of gil,she dreams of becoming a well-to-do independent merchant.
